التقى معالي عبدالله بن طوق المري، وزير الاقتصاد والسياحة، جيورجوس باباناستاسيو، وزير الطاقة والتجارة والصناعة في جمهورية قبرص، حيث بحث الجانبان فرص تطوير الشراكة الاقتصادية المتميزة بين دولة الإمارات وقبرص، وتطوير مسارات جديدة للتعاون في مجالات الطاقة المتجددة والاقتصاد الدائري والابتكار وريادة الأعمال لا سيما في الأنشطة والقطاعات المستدامة، بما يصب في دعم النمو الاقتصادي والفرص الاستثمارية المتبادلة في البلدين الصديقين.
وأكد معالي عبدالله بن طوق المري، أن العلاقات الاقتصادية بين الإمارات وقبرص تشهد تطوراً مستمراً يعكس متانة الشراكة بينهما، والتي تشمل مظلة واسعة من القطاعات الحيوية والمستقبلية، مشيراً إلى أن الروابط الاقتصادية بين البلدين حققت قفزة مهمة مؤخراً مع إطلاق «إنفستوبيا – المتوسط» في نسختها الأولى في يونيو الماضي، والتي استضافتها العاصمة القبرصية نيقوسيا، حيث شكلت منصة إقليمية حيوية لرسم مسارات جديدة للربط الاستثماري والتعاون الاقتصادي في القطاعات المستقبلية، سواء على المستوى الثنائي بين الإمارات وقبرص، أو على المستوى الإقليمي بين دولة الإمارات ومنطقة البحر الأبيض المتوسط.

During the meeting, both sides discussed the possibility of improving the relationship between the business communities of the two countries, assisting in exploiting investment opportunities in their markets, facilitating investment and trade opportunities, and the possibility of partnership in important sectors of the economy of mutual interest.They also discussed opportunities for cooperation in the fields of renewable energy, green hydrogen, education, transportation and modern technology.which will contribute to the implementation of the results of Investopia Mediterranean and strengthen the position of the UAE and Cyprus as regional centers for investment in the green economy and future technologies.
It is important to note that UAE markets host approximately 1,850 Cypriot companies operating in various industries, while Cyprus is an important economic gateway for the expansion of Emirati companies in key European markets, due to its strategic location and potential for advanced investment on the European continent.
